Tom Cross, the Republican candidate for Illinois treasurer, says his Democratic opponent Mike Frerichs wants to invest only in Illinois companies and financial institutions. Cross says the treasurer has the responsibility to put the rate of return on investments above everything.

Two years ago, Dan Hyatt weighed 350 pounds. In less than a month, he’s doing the Ironman in Louisville. Hyatt’s lost 135 pounds, he trains 16 to 20 hours every week, and says he’s ready for the over 140 mile race that includes swimming, biking, and running.

The State of Illinois will spend over $12 million in road projects in LaSalle County. About ten miles of US 6 west of Jefferson Street in Marseilles to Marseilles Road will be worked on for $2.6 million.
