Behringer steps down as Sandwich football coach

SANDWICH, Ill. -- After three years at the helm of the Sandwich football program, Dusty Behringer is stepping down.

Behringer, who had been hired as head coach after a long stint as the Indians' offensive line coach, is stepping down after leading Sandwich to IHSA playoff berths in each of his three seasons as head coach. He will continue to teach at Sandwich Middle School and will remain the head coach of the Sandwich girls' track and field program.

Behringer's resignation marks the end of an era at Sandwich, as he had been a coach with the football team for 15 years.
