Ottawa, IL -- The sales pitch for the LaSalle County Broadband Initiative was made to the full LaSalle County Board Monday night.
Ottawa Director of Economic Development Reed Wilson and network architect Herb Kuryliw presented the plan they've pitched to local governing bodies recently, including the city of Ottawa.
Wilson and Kuryliw asked the board for a $75,000 non-binding pledge, which would be the most money asked out of any governing body so far.
The non-binding pledge means that the county would owe nothing if the federal government doesn't give the go-ahead for the project.
The deadline for the group to apply for federal funds is March 26th, but the LaSalle County board didn't have the pledge on the agenda to approve.
When Hicks suggested writing a letter of support, no one else on the full county board disagreed.
