Leola E. Knoll, 85

Leola E. Knoll, 85, of Fall River Township, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
 
Funeral Service for Leola will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. David E. Daniel officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to services at Zion Lutheran Church.  Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.
 
Born Leola E. Allison, September 7, 1928, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  With her parents, she moved to the Ottawa area in 1929.  She was the daughter of William E. and Dossie (Harris) Allison.  She was educated in the Ottawa Grade and High Schools.
 
On January 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to William L. Knoll of Fall River Township, Illinois in Paradise, CA.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Oroville, CA.  They returned to the Ottawa area in 1957.
 
She was a retired bookkeeper/secretary from Ottawa Lumber Company and LaSalle County Highway Department.  She was a 30 year member of Shoreline Boat Club, a charter member of the LaSalle County Genealogy, 500 Card Club, International Wood Collectors Society, and an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, having held several offices in the congregation.  She was also an associate of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Marseilles.  She was an avid reader.
 
She is survived by three daughters, Ann (Randy) Rich of Spooner, WI, Debra (Donald) Baxter of Fall River Township, and Barbara (Jerry) Miller of Arkedelphia, AR; nine grandchildren, John Scifers, Brian (Danielle) Scifers, Dan (Kandi) Scifers, Joe (Rebecca) Ott, Jennifer (Sean) Schraf, Delaine Baxter, Elysha Baxter, Jerry Miller, and Paul (Kristian) Miller; eleven great grandchildren; and one brother, Norlyn “Bud” (Jeanne) Allison of League City, TX.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Knoll in 2009; a son, Larry Knoll in 2000; a granddaughter, Heidi Knoll in 1994; and a brother, Delburt Allison.
 
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
 
Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Ottawa, Illinois, Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles, or the Marseilles Public Library.
