Starved Rock could be named Eighth Wonder of the World

news@ottawaradio.net
Utica, Ill. -- Fans of Starved Rock State Park can try to name it the Eighth Wonder of the World in an online popularity contest held by VirtualTourist.com.
Starved Rock Lodge Marketing Director Kathy Casstevens says she’s delighted to have made the list of 100 nominees. If enough people vote for the park and lodge through the end of September, she’ll be even more thrilled about the Eighth Wonder designation.

The winner will be named in October. People can vote once a day until September 30.
Starved Rock is up against natural and human made attractions all over the world. Casstevens says it’s okay to see what else the park and lodge are up against while you’re voting.

Other nominees in the Midwest include the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Grandview Dr. in Peoria, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Online voting is at www.VirtualTourist.com
