Serena, Ill. -- If Wedron residents go to court over pollution affecting their water wells, they’ll have to decide which court. Environmental investigator Bob Bowcock says state court is better than federal court. In state court, the case would probably be heard in LaSalle County.
Bowcock believes gasoline and industrial cleaning chemicals in some water wells came from Wedron Silica. Wedron Silica’s parent company, Fairmount Minerals, says it has it hired its own investigators and is sure it’s not to blame.
