Former WCMY Radio host launching Ottawa theater company

Ottawa, Ill. -- Ottawa On Stage is the name of a new production company that will put on its first play in Ottawa late next month.
Kris Pagoria, a former WCMY Radio announcer known on-air as Kris Michaels, has started a few other play groups. He says his parent company, P.R. Productions, identified a need for community theater in Ottawa.
Many local people have been going to out-of-town community theater groups to develop their acting talents. Pagoria says his new community theater company will involve local talent, especially children.
Ottawa On Stage’s first production will be Steel Magnolias in late September at the 807 Building in downtown Ottawa. Pagoria believes the ticket prices, $15 for regular admission and $12 for a senior citizen, will be affordable for families.
The play will be performed at the 807 Building on LaSalle St. in downtown Ottawa at 7pm on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 27, and 3pm on Saturday, September 28.
Steel Magnolias is a play about a group of southern women and the bonds they keep through major life events.
Locally known cast members will be in the first production.
Already planning for the second production, Pagoria says expect a local casting call this fall for Annie.
