Lawyers to start sharing info with each other in flooding lawsuit

news@ottawaradio.net
Chicago -- Each side in the court case over flooding in Marseilles must soon start telling the other about the evidence and arguments it will use to prove or disprove that a barge company is to blame. Federal Judge Amy St. Eve set a January 13 deadline for the exchange of information about the barge crash into the Marseilles dam and flooding back in April.
About 270 people and organizations are suing Ingram Barge Company. They believe their neighborhood flooded because of seven barges that broke loose from a tow and hit the Marseilles dam.
The barge company says it’s a victim too and it didn’t cause the flood.
