Overhead sign work to be done on local Interstates

news@ottawaradio.net
Springfield, Ill. -- Two of the area’s lawmakers say they’re pleased an overhead sign project on Interstates 80 and 39 will create jobs and benefit the economy.
Republican St. Sen. Sue Rezin of Morris says, “It’s always good to see investments made to our infrastructure and the benefit of creating jobs is a plus.”
Democratic St. Rep. Frank Mautino of Spring Valley says, “Creating more economic opportunities to get people back to work is one of my major priorities and this project will assist in that effort.”
A St. Louis company put in the low bid of $115,000 to work on overhead signs at two spots on the Interstate highways in LaSalle County. Gov. Pat Quinn announced the work under the Illinois Jobs Now program Thursday.
