LASALLE, Ill.—Marquette dropped its second and third games in a row Saturday, falling to Washington 10-3 and Teutopolis 12-1.

Matt Allen and Tyler Verona were the losing pitchers for the Crusaders. They return to action Monday at Henry-Senachwine.

OTTAWA, Ill.—Kat Dyche and Erin Miskell combined on a perfect game in Game 1 while the Marquette bats were the story of Game 2 as the Lady Crusaders swept a doubleheader with Elgin Westminster Christian.

Dyche earned the win in the first game, a 7-0 triumph for Marquette.  Lindsey Duttlinger smashed a triple and drove in four runs in a 15-2 rout in Game 2.

Bridgette Feehan and Beth Johnson each pounded out two hits in the second game. Freshman Cate Thompson earned her first career victory in the pitching circle.

Marquette visits Henry-Senachwine on Monday.

Streator 11, Sandwich 1

STREATOR, Ill.—Maggie McGurk and Mollie Benner kept Sandwich hitters off-balance all day, leading Streator to a doubleheader sweep of the Lady Indians.

Streator won the first game 11-1 before squeezing out a 2-0 win in the second tilt.

Shannon Sutherland allowed 11 runs in the first game, but eight were unearned. Hannah Weatherly drove in the Lady Indians’ lone run with a double.

Gabi Lopresti allowed just six hits and two unearned runs in the second game, but had no run support as the Sandwich offense managed just three hits.

Ottawa 5, Bloomington 4
Pekin 7, Ottawa 2
NORMAL, Ill.—After dropping their first two matchups at the Eugene Hill Invitational, Ottawa found the win column on the tournament’s second day.

Singles play did the heavy lifting for Ottawa against Bloomington, as the Pirates took four of six matches and came away with a 5-4 victory. Ottawa later fell to Pekin 7-2.

Luke Winchester continued his dominant play, winning both of his singles matches Saturday after dropping a pair on Friday. The pairing of Tyler Lukkari and Josh Dale won both of their doubles matches, and each won singles outings against Bloomington.

Ottawa returns to action Friday in Rochelle for the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference meet.
