BASEBALL
Aurora Christian 14, Somonauk 8
SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Big middle innings for Aurora Christian were too much for Somonauk to overcome Wednesday.

Aurora Christian scored four runs in the fourth inning and five more in the fifth to pull away, beating the Bobcats 14-8.

Jake Kenyon had a big day for Somonauk (17-4), finishing 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs. Scott Thomas collected two RBIs for the Bobcats.

Somonauk concludes its regular season Saturday at Hiawatha.

SOFTBALL
Marquette 15, Hinckley-Big Rock 0 (5 innings)
HINCKLEY, Ill. – Marquette plated 11 runs in a monster first inning and made short work of Hinckley-Big Rock, winning 15-0 in five innings.

The Lady Crusaders (21-10) won their 11th straight game by pounding out six hits in the first half-inning and punishing the Lady Royals for two errors. Maggie Durdan homered and drove in three runs, and tossed a one-hit shutout while striking out nine.

Bridgette Feehan, Shannon Killelea, Bekah Pearson and Beth Johnson each had two RBIs in the ballgame.

Marquette wraps up its conference slate Thursday at Low Point-Washburn.

Somonauk 11, Newark 0 (5 innings)
SOMONAUK, Ill. – Somonauk clinched the Little Ten Conference title Tuesday, but was not about to let off the gas against Newark.

The Lady Bobcats scored nine times in the second inning and cruised from there, staying undefeated in conference play with a rout of Newark 11-0 in five innings.

Bailee Krantz finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Somonauk (18-4, 15-0 LTC), and also earned the win, pitching a four-hit shutout. Millie Britt was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Somonauk as well.
