OTTAWA, Ill. – Marquette made it a perfect Johnny Mac Tournament with a sweep of Alden-Hebron on Saturday.

The Lady Crusaders (23-10) wrapped up regular season play with wins of 11-4 and 13-9, earning their 12th and 13th consecutive victories in the process.

Carly Oakes was 4-for-4 with three RBIs in the first game while also earning the victory in the pitching circle. Maggie Durdan finished with two hits and two RBIs.

Marquette had to rally from an early deficit in the second game, falling behind 7-0 after the opening half-inning, but the Lady Crusaders responded with five runs of their own to narrow the deficit and set the stage for a prizefight the rest of the way.

Sydney Stalker smacked three hits, two for extra-bases, while driving in four runs for Marquette.

The Lady Crusaders play conference rivals Streator Woodland on Wednesday in a regional semifinal at Henry.

Somonauk 14, Hiawatha 0 (5 innings)
KIRKLAND, Ill. – Somonauk scored 14 runs and delivered 19 hits in a 14-0 rout of Kirkland, but they would not have needed near as much offense the way Bailee Krantz was pitching.

The sophomore was dazzling Saturday, tossing a no-hitter to cap off the Lady Bobcats’ regular season. Krantz struck out nine Hawk hitters, with a single walk the only blemish on her line score.

Jensen Parks collected four this and drove in three runs for Somonauk (19-4, 16-0 LTC). Millie Britt plated four runs, and Krantz helped her own cause by driving in two runs as well.

Somonauk will face Aurora Christian on Wednesday in a regional semifinal matchup. The Lady Bobcats are the second seed in the region behind Newark, despite defeating the Lady Norsemen in both meetings during the regular season.
