OTTAWA, Ill. – Ottawa saw nice results in exhibition play, but did not get enough victories in points play to get past Mendota.

The Pirates dropped its No. 1 singles match and two of three doubles matches to fall to the Trojans 3-2. No. 2 singles machine Luke Winchester continued his dominant play for Ottawa, beating Joey Meyer 6-1, 6-1, and the No. 2 doubles pairing of Tyler Lukkari and Alex Koziel earned a straight-sets victory as well.

In exhibition doubles, Joe Walsh and Keoni Gross were winners, along with Matt Thrush and Lance Wiza, Ryan Koganti and Andrew Felty, andWyatt Anderson and Carlos Ruiz.

Ottawa hosts the sectional meet on Friday and Saturday. Seeding will be announced Wednesday night.
