Raikes named to All-State baseball team

Marquette shortstop Trystin Raikes has been named to the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 2A All-State Team.

Raikes, a junior, was the only Crusader to be named to the team. Raikes hit .294 hit a double, a triple and two home runs while collecting three RBIs during the postseason. For the season, he led Marquette with seven home runs and a .462 average. He slugged 16 doubles, five triples and drove in 37 runs, and stole 26 bases in 28 attempts.

Marquette won the Fieldcrest regional and Herscher sectional before being bounced in the Benedictine Super-Sectional. The Crusaders finished the season 31-7.
