Streaks split weekend set with Zips

OTTAWA, Ill. -- The Ottawa Streaks and Streator Zips split a weekend set at Masinelli Field.

Ottawa claimed Saturday's contest 7-6 in five innings after thunderstorms forced umpires to call the game. Andrew Bacon doubled to score Mason Kannel in the bottom of the fifth and put the Streaks in front just before the rain came to end the game. Bacon finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs.

Streator exacted revenge on Sunday, winning 6-5 in eight innings. Allen Rose brought home the winning run for the Zips.

Bacon doubled three times for Ottawa, driving home three runs in the second contest.
