LaSalle County deputy to throw first pitch for minor league baseball game

news@ottawaradio.net
Joliet, Ill. -- For the second time in a week, someone named Yacko will be honored before a Joliet Slammers baseball game. Josh Yacko sang the National Anthem Sunday when the Slammers played the Gateway Grizzlies. Saturday night, his LaSalle County Sheriff’s Deputy father Eric Yacko will throw the first pitch before the match against the Evansville Otters.
It was during Sunday’s game that Slammers management learned the older Yacko rescued a man from a burning house west of Ottawa two nights before. So it seemed ideal to have him throw the first pitch for Police and Fire Night Saturday night.
The tickets cost $12, but anyone with a police officer or fire fighter ID can see the game for free.
