Peru, IL -- The restriction on visitors ages 18 and under at Illinois Valley Community Hospital has been lifted this week.
IVCH infection control coordinator Deb Patyk says flu activity in general is down and that’s why the restriction is lifted.
Patyk says most respiratory viruses she sees nowadays aren’t influenza viruses.
Ottawa Regional Hospital lifted their restrictions in early January while Mendota Community Hospital has also lifted their restrictions since then.
The lifting of restrictions means that services such as Volunteens, a teenage student volunteer program, and pet therapy programs can resume at IVCH.
