Anyone in the Marseilles area that needs an ambulance ride to the hospital will now be in more highly-trained hands.
That’s because the Marseilles Area Ambulance Service has been upgraded by the Illinois Department of Public Health to a Paramedic Unit.
Acting Director Matt Callahan says this upgrade will mean better service to people with heart problems.
From there, paramedics can contact the physician at the hospital to start the process of figuring out how to treat the patient.
Out of the 30 employees at the Marseilles Area Ambulance Service, 8 have completed paramedic training, and another 7 will be trained paramedics by June.
Grand Ridge School Registration will be held Tuesday, August 3rd from 9am until 2pm and 5pm until 7pm and again on Wednesday, August 4th from 9am until noon.
