Farmer/Operator Bob Beutke and LaSalle County Farm Bureau Manager Jeff Hartman join Jay LeSeure and discuss the very successful Adopt An Acre project for 2011 that showed a profit of $412.11 for the Ottawa Food Pantry.









The purpose of the WCMY & LaSalle County Farm Bureau Adopt-an-Acre program is to educate the general public on the economics and risks of producing a crop

Bob is in Chicago at the Illinois Farm Bureau annual meeting and tells us the "Adopt An Acre" project has won another award.

Final profit numbers are in after the 50/50 split with the landowner: CORN $254.48 SOYBEANS $157.63. Proceeds go to the Ottawa Food Pantry.

The corn is in --- 188 bushels from the Adopt An Acre field.

Bob Beutke has 100 acres of beans left to combine. Then it's on to the corn. And, Bob has the net income on the acre of beans.
